Telemann Chamber Music Picture Scroll, Section XIV: Three Ornate Triets, Three Scherzos, etc.

Three rarely performed "Triets" and three "Scherzos," a collection of six pieces in all!

This collection consists of six works written for two upper voices and bass continuo, and in the "Trietti", as in the "Metodisches Sonaten", which is often used to study ornamental techniques, the upper voices are decorated by Telemann himself in the slow movement.

What kind of ornamentation was left to the discretion of the player in the slow movement, and the ornamentation showed the performer's ability and taste.

The fact that the upper two voices are completely equal in the slow movement as well as in the other movements is an interesting feature of this collection, and all six pieces are fascinating from beginning to end!

The "Trietti" and "Scherzi" are shorter pieces, each from "Music for the Table," probably the most popular of Telemann's collections. The Trio Sonata for two violins, which has a generous sense of weight, is also presented here.
