Official https://www.tjos.jp
The Tokyo Junior Orchestra Society (T.J.O.S.) is a youth orchestra based in Tokyo with members ranging from elementary school to university students, under the artistic direction of Fuminori Shinozaki, special concertmaster of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and with musicians who have performed with major Japanese orchestras as instructors. Since 2007, the orchestra has been holding charity concerts in the spring to support the victims of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan. The orchestra has been certified as a non-profit organization by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government since 2009, and is a rarity among Japanese junior orchestras in that it does not have a specific corporate or municipal sponsor. Many of our graduates have been active in various fields, not only in Japan and abroad but also in the music industry, and some of them are now working as instructors for the orchestra, devoting themselves to the training of their younger colleagues. All of our members practice hard, so please come and listen to the youthful performances of our children.
