Tomoki Sakata (Piano)
First prize winner of the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition (Budapest, Hungary) in 2016 and six special awards. Fourth prize in the piano section of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2021. Won the youngest prize at the 14th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition at the age of just 19. He won the Grand Prize in the Special Class of the Pitina Piano Competition, five special prizes including the Audience Prize, a special prize for his performance of Mozart at the Cleveland International Piano Competition, and the First Prize and Audience Prize at the Kissingen International Piano Olympiad, the first Japanese ever to be awarded for his performance of Beethoven's "The Greatest Piano of All Time". He has performed in more than 20 countries around the world, including Japan, and has appeared at numerous international music festivals. She made her CD debut in 2015 and released an ambitious album of arrangements, including world premiere recordings, in March 2020.
