Mako Hayasaka Left Hand Piano Concert - Piano Solo and Chamber Music
2024/12/30(mo.) 14:30 Starting
Left-handed pianist Mako Hayasaka will present a program of all left-handed piano pieces.
The first part is a concert of left hand piano pieces by Soguchi.
We will present a time to relax and enjoy music while feeling the unique sound of the left hand piano.
The second part will be a performance of a hidden masterpiece by Franz Schmidt (1874-1939), who celebrated the 150th anniversary of his birth this year, Piano Quintet No. 2 in B-flat major (composed in 1932). This work was written for the pianist Paul Wittgenstein (1887-1961), who lost his right arm in World War I.
It will be performed by a special unit specially formed for this concert by students enrolled at the Tokyo College of Music.
