Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. (President and CEO: Hiroaki Kitano, hereafter "Sony CSL") has been developing the Music Excellence Academy (hereafter "the Academy"), which provides comprehensive physical and artistic education for junior pianists, since 2020. The fourth phase of the Academy (from September 2023) has now been completed.
The Academy is part of the research activities of Shinichi Furuya, Research Director of Sony CSL - Tokyo Research, and its music director is Dina Joffe. As an occasion to announce the completion of its fourth term, we will hold the "Music Excellence Academy Fourth Term Completion Concert" on December 1, 2012, in which nine junior pianists who have undergone one year of education and training will perform. This year, we will also welcome violinist Nao Tamai (professor at Tokyo University of the Arts) and cellist Akiko Hasegawa (principal cellist of the New Japan Philharmonic) for a duo/trio program.
During the intermission of the concert, there will be a demonstration of the performance skill measurement system, etc., and an introduction of the Academy's activities in the lobby.
Please join us for this concert under the supervision of Ms. Dina Joffe to witness the growth of the fourth class of students who have completed the one-year program.
