City Symphony Orchestra's 437th "Family Symphony Music

The Ichikawa Symphony Orchestra (Ichikyo), based in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, will hold "Family Symphony Music" with conductor Hideya Okatsu.

The first piece to be performed will be Berlioz's overture to "The Roman Carnival. The second piece will be the second suite of "The Triangular Hats" by Falla. Falla was born in Spain, was active in the early 1900s, and spent his last years in Argentina. The unique beat and the melody played by the orchestra will give the audience a sense of the Spanish atmosphere.
The second half of the concert will feature Berlioz's "Symphonie fantastique. Composed about 10 years before he composed "Carnival of Rome," it is said to be based on Berlioz's romantic experience as a young man. It consists of five movements, each of which is entitled "Dream-Passion," "Ball," "Field Scene," "March to the Decapitation," and "Dream of the Night of Sabat" respectively.

Conductor Hideya Okatsu, who has performed with the Symphony Orchestra many times, will make his first appearance with the orchestra in four years, since 2020. We hope you will enjoy the City Symphony Orchestra's performance created by Mr. Okatsu on Sunday.
