The Alte Kangen Orchestra was formed in April 1999 as an amateur orchestra performing mainly classical music. Based mainly in Yamagata City, the orchestra rehearses once a month and performs twice a year with the aim of creating a more advanced and free ensemble with friends who know each other well.
Since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, the group has continued its "Young Performers Series" with the aim of bringing energetic performances by young performers who will carry the future to their hometowns, and this year marks the 26th time. This time, we welcome Ms. Kotone Mizuno, a third-year violinist at Tokyo University of the Arts, who will perform Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto.
We hope you will share the wonderful music with us and take home a light of joy.
