Megumi Ikeda
Born in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. Decided to study in Russia while a student at Ehime University, and became a student of Ms. Tatyana Zelikman at the Gnesin Music Academy of Russia in 2003. In 2006, he received a master's diploma in red and graduated in 2008, and in 2009, he won the second prize in the adult division of the 11th Maria Yudina International Piano Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia. In the same year, she won the 3rd prize at the 1st Settimo International Piano Competition in Settimo, Italy.
In 2014, she returned to Japan and founded the "Japan-Russia Music Culture Circle Velyoza" to promote cultural exchange between Russia and Matsuyama, including music. The group has successfully held 24 regular concerts, including the introduction of Russian pianism, with Vladimir Trop, Tatyana Zelikman, and Hayik Kazadzhan (3rd prize at the Tchaikovsky International Competition), and Konstantin Shamlai (1st prize at the Sydney International Competition), Andre Shipko (associate professor at the Moscow Conservatory), Shibama Okui (finalist at the Paderewski International Piano Competition), Vsevolod Zavidov (gold medalist at the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition), and others have been invited to Matsuyama to promote Russian pianism and Russian culture in Ehime and Russia. He has been personally involved in international exchanges between Russia and Ehime to promote Russian pianism and Russian culture in Matsuyama.
