The "Kapibara Piano Quartet" is a piano quartet that won the first prize in the second division (piano trio/quartet division) of the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition 2023. This is their long-awaited first performance in Shizuoka.
The Kapibara Piano Quartet was formed from the encounter of young soloists from four European cities: Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Kronberg.
Taught at the prestigious Seiji Ozawa International Academy by renowned predecessors Sadao Harada and Nobuko Imai, Okada, Konoe, and Kim shared a passion for chamber music, and together with pianist Hering, they embarked on a journey together as a piano quartet.
Each has won prizes at major international competitions (Munich, Geneva, Leeds, Kreisler, Casado) and have appeared as soloists and chamber musicians on prominent stages in Europe and abroad. In the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition 2023, the trio won the first prize with an overwhelming presence in a field of piano trios that have won prizes in other international chamber music competitions.
