Hitotsubashi University Orchestra The 72nd Regular Concert

2024/12/18(We.) 18:30 Starting

Sumida Triphony Hall, Main HallTokyo

Official https://teket.jp/881/39478

This year's subscription concert will feature a Schalk-revised version of Bruckner's Symphony No. 5, one of his masterpieces, filled with the counterpoint that Bruckner was known for. In the first piece, "Fantasy and Fugue" by J.S. Bach, and the second piece, "Symphonic Transformations on a Theme by Weber" by P. Hindemith, the fugue technique used frequently in Bruckner's Fifth Symphony is used, and in the third piece, "Fugue" by P. Hindemith, the fugue technique used frequently in Bruckner's Fifth Symphony is used. The program will also feature a sense of unity among the three pieces, as the fugue technique used in Bruckner's Fifth is used in the second piece, "Symphonic Variations on a Theme by Weber" by P. Hindemith, and the connection between the three composers and the organ is evident. The conductor will be Mr. Shinpei Sasaki, with whom we performed together at the 70th Regular Concert, and the more than 100 members of the orchestra will perform the culmination of this year's concert. We are sincerely looking forward to your attendance.
