Naoki Kita Quartet Profile
The Quartet was formed in 2011 by violinist Naoki Kita. The music performed by the quartet is all Kita's original compositions, and is an incomparable music that has been reconstructed by incorporating various elements from Argentine tango, which is Kita's birthplace, to free jazz, improvised music, and contemporary music. Their music, which combines rich melodies with a sense of "in between," is highly acclaimed for its deep spirituality.
Each of the four members is regarded as one of the best tango players in Japan on their respective instruments, and their outstanding abilities have allowed them to transcend genres and remain active at the forefront of the scene. The superb expression that can only be achieved by these four musicians will shake the spirits of the audience and awaken their "Duende".
