Naoki Kita & Satoshi Kitamura Tango Duo Live in Hikone

Naoki Kita (violin) and Satoshi Kitamura (bandoneon), two of the leaders of the tango scene in Japan, will perform at Saikakuji Temple in Hikone on the third day of their Nishi-Japan tour.
The duo's original arrangements of tango classics will take the audience on a journey to the streets of Buenos Aires with their melodies full of melancholy and lively rhythms. The bandoneon, the symbol of tango, and the violin, the flower of tango. An ensemble consisting of only these two is surprisingly rare. Kita and Kitamura's duet extracts the essence of tango and plays it with flamboyance. Although this is the smallest tango ensemble, the true joy of tango can be felt.

Naoki Kita (violin) graduated from Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, studied composition and arrangement in England, and tango technique in Argentina with Fernando Suarez Paz. After studying with Kiyoshi Shiga, Koji Kyotani, and Ryota Komatsu, he formed the Naoki Kita Tango Quartet, which performs only his own arrangements. He also performs improvisational music and original compositions. The music of the Naoki Kita Quartet, which incorporates elements of improvisation and contemporary music into tango, is highly regarded for its originality and spirituality.

Satoshi Kitamura (bandoneon) first encountered the bandoneon while a student at Kansai University, where he studied with Ryota Komatsu and Julio Panet. He has performed at festivals around the world including Argentina, Chile, Austria, and Korea. 11 joined the Asian band of Pablo Sigler, former pianist of the Astor Piazzolla Quintet. 14 performed in the Tokyo Opera City recital series "B→C" to great acclaim. 21 years, In 2009, he participated with Ryota Komatsu in the Japan premiere of Piazzolla's "Sinfonia Buenos Aires" conducted by Andrea Battistoni, and has participated in many recordings including NHK's historical drama "Aoten wo Sukuke" and the movie "Masquerade Night.
