The "Godzilla" Cinema Concert Tokyo will be performed by a full-length film and a live orchestra.
A cinema concert is an entertainment in which the dialogues and sound effects of the movie are retained, and the music is performed by an orchestra in accompaniment to the full-length movie, giving the audience the feeling of a live performance of the movie.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the birth of Godzilla and the 110th anniversary of the birth of Akira Ifukube, who created the music for Godzilla. The worldwide success of "Godzilla-1.0" and its winning of the US Academy Award(R) for Best Visual Effects is an opportunity for a renewed focus on Godzilla's origins, the 1954 film "Godzilla", and the Godzilla Cinema Concert, which premiered 10 years ago on its 60th anniversary, will be performed again to bring the powerful fusion of film and live performance to the concert hall.
