Profile of Yuka Morishige
Yuka Morishige graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music, and completed her master's degree in soloist and chamber music at the University of the Arts Berlin. She was a Yamaha Music Foundation Scholarship student. She was awarded the Busoni International Piano Competition Scholarship and the first prize (audience prize) at the Edwin Fischer International Piano Academy. Recently, he was invited to perform a solo recital at the Eivelle International Music Festival (Tallinn). She has also appeared as a soloist in a piano concerto at the Philharmonie in Berlin, and has appeared in numerous concerts throughout Europe. In 2021, she was dispatched as an artist for the "Outreach Forum for the Revitalization of Music in Public Halls," a program sponsored by the Japan Foundation for Regional Art-Activities. Her debut album "Schubert Improvisations D899 & Piano Sonata No. 21 D960" was released from Octavia Records in 2022. She has studied piano under Kazuko Abiko, Mariko Seo, Nobuyoshi Kato, Izumi Komoriya, and Klaus Hellwig. Currently, she is a part-time lecturer at J. F. Oberlin University, College of Art and Design, Department of Piano.

She won the second prize at the 80th Japan Music Competition, the Iwatani Prize (Audience Prize), and the 17th Hiroyuki Iwashiro Music Prize. As the first violinist of Quartet Amabile, she won the first prize at the Young Concert Artists International Audition in New York, the third prize in the string quartet division at the 65th ARD Munich International Music Competition, the special prize (for the best interpretation of a work commissioned by the competition), and the 22nd Hotel Okura Music Award. He received his master's degree from Toho Gakuen School of Music. Studied with Kinya Yamashita, Akiko Tatsumi, Maxim Vengerov, and Fuminori Shinozaki. He has been a guest concertmaster of the Century Orchestra of Japan since January, 2012. He plays a G.F. Presenda ex "Carl Flesch" made in 1832 (Munetsugu Collection).
