Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa 48th Nagoya Subscription Concert Unofficial

Permanent conductor Kentaro Kawase will conduct this Nagoya performance. The trumpet superstar Sergei Nakariakov is expected to make a splash.
The pieces are Saint-Saens' symphonic poem "Dance of Death," Arutyunian's Trumpet Concerto, and Brahms' Symphony No. 2. The program was diverse, each with a different character and taste.

Saint-Saens' symphonic poem "Dance of Death" is characterized by its descriptive nature. The music depicts the dancing of the "Gaiquots" in the middle of the night to the violin played by the Grim Reaper. The appeal of this work is that it demonstrates a somewhat grotesque sense of humor, such as the use of a xylophone to express the sound of the clattering of the bones of the Gaikotsu.
Arutyunian's Trumpet Concerto is the most popular work in this field. Nakariakov will surely show off his brilliant technique. It is rich in Armenian folkloric colors and is accessible to first-time listeners.
