Trio Ex was formed in Berlin in 2022 by Kiana Reed (piano), Mayu Tomotaki (violin), and Hideaki Fujiwara (cello). In April 2023, only six months after its formation, the group won the third prize and the prize for commissioned work at the 18th International Music Competition of Lyon. In June, the group won the second prize at the Alice Zamutter Chamber Music Competition in Berlin, and was selected as a semi-finalist at the 72nd ARD Munich International Music Competition. Based in Berlin, she has given concerts at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, the Japanese Embassy in Germany, and other venues, all to great acclaim. He is currently studying at the chamber music department of the Hans Eisler School of Music.
