K-BALLET TOKYO "Mermaid

Tetsuya Kumagawa, who has successively produced a number of grand ballets, from classic revisions to original works, will present his next new work, "The Mermaid," based on Andersen's fairy tale "The Little Mermaid.
Among Kumagawa's numerous works, "The Nutcracker" and "Cinderella," which are especially popular among a wide range of generations, and his new production of "The Sleeping Beauty," which drew a great deal of attention last year, have already proven that Kumagawa has an unparalleled skill in the field of fantasy.

His skillful storytelling, which makes familiar tales shine with freshness, and his extraordinary ideas to create a stage filled with magical moments unique to the theater space, make children and adults alike believe that the world of fantasy is "the truth of the here and now. The world of fantasy is a "here and now truth" that children and adults alike can believe in.

The mysterious undersea world is depicted on an impressive scale, and the mermaid princess, longing for the human world, follows the path of a single-minded and painful love.
Expectations are also high for the film's original setting, including a shark that does not appear in the original work, which will become a key player in the story.

The world premiere of this masterpiece, presented on the occasion of K Ballet's 25th anniversary, is scheduled for this fall!
