Brahms "German Requiem" conducted by Kazumi Yahiro

This work is a message of encouragement to those who have overcome grief and continue to live.

Dr. Kazumi Yahiro, who has conducted this work many times, will conduct the performance, with soloists Keiko Enomoto (soprano) and Teru Yoshihara (baritone), who are both based in Europe.

The greatest appeal of the "German Requiem" lies in its beautiful melody and lyrics. Every part of the piece is filled with beautiful melodies woven by chorus and orchestra, from the deep orchestral sound of the first piece to the gentle melody of the seventh piece that follows the powerful fugue of the sixth piece.

Furthermore, the Requiem is composed not from the usual Latin liturgical texts, but from biblical passages in German chosen by Brahms himself. The word "Selig" (blessed) in the opening a capella chorus and the word "selig" at the end of the entire piece are used symbolically to convey Brahms' warm message of love for his late teacher, Schumann, and his mother.
