F Research Institute Volunteer Orchestra Concert
Takeo Noguchi, who founded the Tokyo Furtwängler Society in 1995, thought that it was important to practice not only research but also performance, so he established an attached orchestra.
The "Tokyo Furtwängler Society Orchestra" (a.k.a. "F-Ken Orchestra") has given 62 regular performances from 1995 to 2023.
Among its many accomplishments were the Japanese and world premieres of works by Furtwängler, a composer who had never before seen the light of day, and performances of Bruckner's works.
On September 20, 2023, following the death of Mr. Noguchi, the orchestra members of the concert scheduled at that time and other musicians who had performed with Mr. Noguchi gathered together. On November 25 of the same year, the "F Laboratory Volunteer Orchestra Concert" was held.

After the concert, we received a warm request to "continue this volunteer orchestra" and we hoped that, based on Mr. Noguchi's past activities, we could continue to approach Furtwängler's views and philosophy on art through the practical act of performance.
With these thoughts in mind, this volunteer orchestra has made a new start this year.

The orchestra will be conducted by Tomoya Yamashita, the founder of the "Volunteer Orchestra of the FRC" and the representative of the "Volunteer Orchestra of the FRC", who had performed with Mr. Noguchi in all the concerts of the "FRC Orchestra" during his last six years and had taken private solfège lessons from him until three days before his death.

<Conductor's Profile
Tomoya Yamashita started playing the piano at the age of 6. He began playing the violin in high school and studied violin under Hiroko Iwahashi and Yoshitane Ohtsubo. Studied harmony under Ryo Takahashi and the late Takeo Noguchi. Studied solfege under the late Takeo Noguchi. He received conducting lessons from Mr. Takashi Iiyoshi and Mr. Ryo Hirabayashi. He has also expanded his activities into the field of composition and arrangement. His compositions include "Small Variations for String Quartet," "SymphonicSketch," and "Sonata for Piano," among others.
In addition to his work as a company employee, he is currently conducting research on the literature of Furtwängler's works and on the first and revised editions of Bruckner's symphonies.
