Ikuma Dan is a composer known for many masterpieces, including "Hana no Machi", "Zosan", and the choral piece "Chikugo River".

A wide range of Ikuma Dan's compositions will be performed, from "Shigure ni yose iryori" (Lyric for a Shigure) composed at the age of 19, to his mid-period masterpiece "Wagamono Uta" and "Murray Otome no utaheru" premiered in his final years.
The program will also feature songs by Moroi Saburo, Hashimoto Kunihiko, and Yamada Kosaku, all of whom Dan studied under, as well as songs broadcast on NHK's "Radio Songs" program of the time, and will explore the dawn of Western music in Japan in a variety of ways.

Performers include soprano Kimi Takahashi, winner of the "Encouragement Prize" and "Ryosuke Hatanaka Prize" in the singing division of the 34th Sogakudo Japanese Song Contest.
