Philharmonia Eterna

2024/07/15(mo.) 13:30 Starting

Sumida Triphony Hall, Main HallTokyo

The group, named "Eternal Music Lovers," was formed in May 1995 by graduates of the Keio Wagener Society Orchestra, Aoyama Gakuin Orchestra, Tokyo University of Science Orchestra, and other Tokyo-based university orchestras, with the goal of providing the best stage for both the audience and members through the creation of the best amateur music. The orchestra was formed mainly by graduates of the Keio University Orchestra, the Aoyama Gakuin Orchestra, the Tokyo University of Science Orchestra, and other Tokyo universities. Since its establishment, the orchestra has continued its daily activities while steadily developing the elements and environment essential for a high-quality ensemble: sufficient rehearsal time, strong musical solidarity among members, an excellent conductor, and a long-term visionary plan.
This year's concert will feature Korngold's Violin Concerto and Mahler's Symphony No. 6, inviting Vienna Philharmonic violinist Kazuki Hedenborg for the first time in many years since the 24th subscription concert in 2018. Mahler's Symphony No. 6 was scheduled to be performed at our regular concert in July 2020, but due to the Corona disaster that struck the world in the spring of the same year and the resulting restrictions on activities, we had no choice but to postpone the performance of the work. We are pleased to announce that Mr. Yuki Kakiuchi, who was scheduled to appear at that time, will be invited to perform the piece again.
