● About the performance
Since 2016, I have completed eight concerts of Beethoven's complete piano sonatas. The next step after chewing Beethoven one by one and making it my flesh and blood, was J.S. Bach's Mean Clavier cycle.
The year before last, he gave a recital of the 24 preludes and fugues (BWV 846-869) in Volume 1,
This year, he will perform the entire second volume (BWV 870-893), which was completed in 1742, 20 years after the completion of the first volume.
Compared to the first volume, which is innovative and becomes an organic and huge complex by swallowing various styles, the second volume is more stripped down, plain, and one can feel the pure and transparent compassion and love that dwells in everyday life.
From Bach to us ~ sometimes to God! ~ I hope to perform with all my heart, just as I am, as if I were reading a letter.

Recommendation by Pianist Motoko Takeuchi
Sometimes I wonder if the universe is full of noises that we cannot hear.
Midori Arima's Bach seems to me to be filled with the echoes of something beautiful that is usually inaudible to the human ear. This "something" must be the use of "hope"...
The world of sound created through the spirit of Mr. Arima..,

I was also very happy when I felt as if I had touched the "source" of music, as if the music came to life when Mr. Nojima pointed out just a single note. He also said, "We ordinary people have to continue this kind of thing for the rest of our lives! I was so surprised, and my respect for him grew stronger.
