Akane Ikuma Profile

Akane Ikuma received the Kinoshita method of sound education at an early age, and began playing the piano at the age of five. After graduating from the music department of Osaka Prefectural Yuhigaoka High School, she went on to graduate from the Music Department of Tokyo University of the Arts. Completed a master's degree in music at Kyoto City University of Arts Graduate School of Music. She was selected for the 56th and 57th All Japan Music Competition for Students, Elementary School Division, Osaka, Japan. 2006 Pitina Piano Competition Jr. First Prize in the Junior High School Division of the 61st All Japan Student Music Competition, and First Prize in the High School Division of the 63rd All Japan Student Music Competition. First prize at the 20th Matsukata Hall Music Awards. Also won prizes at the 30th Takarazuka Vega Music Competition in 2019, the 6th Ishikawa International Piano Competition General Section in 2022, the 12th Kobe Piano Competition in 2023, and others. He is a scholarship student of the Japan Art Association. He has performed with the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Yukio Fujioka, the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra under the baton of Kosuke Tsunoda, and the Century Orchestra of Japan under the baton of Norichika Iimori. Currently, he teaches at the R.H.Y. Music School and the Music Department of Osaka Prefectural Yuhigaoka High School.
