Orchestra Cercatori 3rd Concert

2024/07/15(mo.) 15:00 Starting

Chofu City Green Hall Main HallTokyo

Official https://teket.jp/6097/29900

The third concert, celebrating the second anniversary of Cherkatori's birth, will present masterpieces and secret pieces from the Norwegian National Music School, highlighting the orchestral works of the Norwegian composer Johan Halvorsen. The well-known incidental music "Peer Gynt" will be performed in the original excerpts of the Cercatorio, including additional music arranged by Halvorsen. Halvorsen's masterpiece "Passacaglia on a Theme by Handel" will be performed as a pre-concert performance.

Exactly 100 years ago, Halvorsen was a leading figure in Norwegian music as Grieg's successor. He was active not only as a composer but also as a conductor and violinist, and left many works with a clear and friendly style and skillful orchestration that show the influence of the Norwegian National Music School, which are rarely performed in Japan today.

We hope you will enjoy the splendid and dramatic world of Norwegian music, including his Symphony No. 1, which will be performed for the third time in Japan, during your summer holiday.
