NHK Symphony Orchestra Tatsunori Numajiri & NHK Symphony Orchestra The Brahms Unofficial

The NHK Symphony Orchestra appeared with Tatsunori Numajiri under the banner of "The Brahms"! However, it is neat that two pieces that are not symphonies or orchestral works by Brahms have been chosen. The first is the Violin Concerto. The soloist is Yayoi Toda, who has long been active as a top player in Japan and abroad. She and Numajiri are Toho Gakuen alumni, and this intimate Brahms performance by these two masters of their craft is sure to be a masterpiece that cannot be heard anywhere else. Then there is Schoenberg's arrangement of the Piano Quartet No. 1. This version, which has been very popular in recent years, features a large orchestra that makes full use of brass and special percussion instruments, and offers a magnificent sound and melodic beauty. In addition, this year marks the 150th anniversary of Schoenberg's birth, and the commemorative year can be celebrated in conjunction with Brahms. Expect a selection of music with a twist!
