Broadway Musical "Class Act

The setting is Broadway in February 1988.
A farewell party is being held at the Shubert Theater for Ed Crevan, lyricist of "A Chorus Line".
The assembled friends think of him as he passed away.
Sophie, Ed's first girlfriend, tells the story of the man no one knew.
Even though he had reached the pinnacle of the world as a lyricist, winning a Tony Award, Ed still wanted to be recognized as a composer rather than a lyricist.
The friends look back on Ed and the friendly rivalry of their young lives.
They receive Ed's final message to each of them, and for the first time, they learn of his sincerity and his true character.
