Fujisawa Male Chorus

The choral pieces selected from "Kodomo no Uta" (Children's Songs) by Onnaka, who celebrated the 100th anniversary of his birth this year, will be presented on stage with an entertainment flavor, as he has been called "Fujio of Opera" as the core of chorus in Fujisawa Civic Opera, and their fun and lightheartedness are the highlights of the program. Bruckner, who was born 200 years ago, has a cappella and piano accompaniment with a mysterious atmosphere in "Mitternacht," and each of the four pieces has the robustness of the German Romanticism as well as the diversity and breadth of expression. Eiki Chihara's "Ame Ni Mo Makezu," a deeply emotional and powerful rendition of Kenji Miyazawa's famous poem, is a masterpiece that is not only worth singing but also worth listening to. The chorus will perform these pieces under the direction of permanent conductor Takahiro Yoshikawa, who has added a touch of maturity in recent years to his usual fresh and straightforward compositions, and will present the unique harmony of a male chorus.
