Hitachi Ichiko High School & its attached junior high school brass band Akabure's annual regular concert will finally celebrate its 50th anniversary.
We have prepared a wide variety of famous pieces including a commissioned work by Ryo Kiuchi, famous operas, and hit numbers from hard rock and anime songs.

Ryo Kiuchi
Born in Hitachi City. Alumnus of Hitachi Ichiko High School brass band (Aka-bure).
After graduating from Hitachi Daiichi High School, he studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Music, and then at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Music, where he received his master's degree in musicology.
While a student, he received the Acanthus Music Award and the Graduate School Acanthus Music Award. He was selected for the 27th Asahi Composition Award (wind band).
He was a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 2022 to 2023. Specializes in musicology (Western music history), especially 19th century French opera history.
In addition to his research activities, he continues to perform at concerts and contribute commentaries on musical works.
He is a member of the Musical Society of Japan and the International Society for Musicology.
