The second installment of this series is an ancient string quartet.
String quartet is a well-known chamber music form, but here we will play with gut strings as in Tokai Baroque music! We will play with gut strings.
The program includes string quartets from the early Italian period.
In addition to well-known composers such as Mozart and Boccherini, Mislivecek was in contact with Mozart and is said to have influenced the young Mozart. Please take this opportunity to listen to a demonstration.
The Tokai Baroque Project Chamber Music Series, held three times each year, has this year's sub-theme of "food, clothing, and shelter. This second performance is "Italy x Housing. The paintings by Pietro Longhi, the artist who is said to have depicted the string quartet in which Boccherini played the cello, will give us a glimpse into the life of the Italian upper class at that time.
