G. Verdi's 23rd opera, "Don Carlo," is also known as one of his masterpieces.　Verdi made numerous revisions to this work, both large and small, and it is said that there are now six or seven versions of the opera that are known to exist.　It is a magnificent work with such appeal to Verdi that one can imagine his efforts to perfect it even further. This performance will be in the form of an original highlights concert based on the version in four acts performed at La Scala in Milan in 1884, with some music taken from other versions.

In addition to the singers with rich personalities, Sakiko Taira will narrate the story, and Shiho Misawa will play the piano and lead the orchestra with her various tones. Conductor Masahiro Shirotani, who has a deep knowledge of Wagner's music, will weave a musical narrative based on the notes of Verdi, who lived in the same period as Wagner.
