Nazdoravi Philharmonic Special Concert

My Homeland, a series of symphonic poems

2024/05/12(su.) 14:00 Starting

Tokorozawa Civic Cultural Center Muse ARC Hall (Main Hall)Saitama

The Nazdravi Philharmonic was founded in 2007 as an amateur orchestra to promote Czech music. The name "Nazdoravi" means "toast" in Czech.
The orchestra has performed works by many Czech composers. In addition to performing the complete Dvoják symphonies in previous concerts, the Amateur Orchestra has always tried to present a conceptual program at each concert, actively featuring works by Dvoják, Smetana, Janáček, and other Czech composers who are rarely performed in Japan. The 12th concert in 2016 featured works by Julius Huciuk, who celebrated the 100th anniversary of his death, as well as works by Dvořák, who was Huciuk's teacher.
In 2024, the 200th anniversary of Smetana's birth and the 140th anniversary of his death, "My Homeland" will be performed in its entirety in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, on May 12, the anniversary of Smetana's death, and the "Prague Spring" music festival will open.
On this memorable day, we, the Nazdorovy Philharmonic, will perform "My Homeland" ahead of the Czech Republic. Please come to Tokorozawa and feel the atmosphere of the Prague Spring Music Festival.
