Yakubu Hrusha, who served as Principal Guest Conductor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra for eight years from 2010 to 2017, and is now making great strides as Chief Conductor of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Royal Opera House in the 2025/26 season, makes his first appearance at the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra podium in seven years! The Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra will perform a special program of Czech masterpieces, including Smetana's Overture to Libusche, which opens with a majestic fanfare, and Janacek's Overture to Tchaikovsky's Tchaikovsky's Tchaikovsky Overture to Janacek's Tchaikovsky Overture, which opens with a majestic fanfare. The suite of large scale music, which Frusha himself arranged so that the orchestra alone can enjoy the essence of Janacek's "The Clever Vixen," is the highlight of this concert. Dvořák's Third Symphony is an ambitious three-movement work in three fascinating movements, written under the influence of Wagner.
