Miyu Tachibanawa

Miyu Tachibanawa graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts at the top of her class after graduating from the Music High School attached to the Tokyo University of the Arts.
She received the Aoyama Music Award while in school and the Acanthus Music Award upon graduation. She is currently enrolled in the graduate school of Tokyo College of Music as a special scholarship student.
She began playing the violin at the age of 3. She has won many prizes in competitions since she was a child, including the All Japan Student Music Competition and the All Japan Junior Classical Music Competition, etc. In 2017, she won second prize in the category B of the Mozart International Music Competition for Young Musicians held in Zhuhai, China, where Zubin Mehta serves as honorary president. 2020: Honorable Mention, Japan Music Competition; 2021: 2nd Prize and Audience Prize, Tokyo Music Competition; 2022: 5th Prize, Sendai International Music Competition; 2023: 1st Prize, Soji Angel Violin Competition; 5th Prize, Ron Thibault International Music Competition in the same year.
Studied under Kaname Miyashita, Shigeo Kubota, Hisako Kubota, Yasuko Otani, Gerard Poulet, Yoshio Unno, and Machie Oguri.
Studied with Pierre Amoyal and Reiko Watanabe.
She plays a Stradivarius "Rainvelle" made in 1697, on loan from the Munetsugu Collection.
