Fukuoka City Minami Civic Center Cultural HallFukuoka

Official https://navisnow.f5.si/

Navis Orchestral Winds is a group of more than 70 members, mostly university students in Fukuoka, who share the desire to "challenge difficult and masterpieces of brass band music that are rarely performed. Navis" is a Latin word meaning "ship," and the group's members come from a variety of backgrounds, making it a "ship" on which a diverse group of people can interact.
The main music for this year's concert is "Triton" composed by Jun Chosei. This piece is a perfect fit for our troupe, which has a large student body and is named "Navis.
Other pieces to be performed are "Othello" by A. Read, based on one of Shakespeare's four great tragedies, "Gift of the Forest," inspired by the forests of Yakushima, and "Jubilee Overture," featuring fanfares and the euphonium's cheerful singing.
The program is rich in expression and can be enjoyed by those who love brass band music as well as those who do not. Admission is free and reservations are not required, so please come to Fukuoka City Minami Shimin Center on March 10.
