The group was founded in November 2015, after performing at the Ogikubo Music Festival, and under the vision of "local community with music at its core", we aim to create a rich "Ogikubo color" that everyone involved in the band can enjoy.

Program

  • Overture "My Home" op.62

    A. Dvorak

  • Cello Concerto in B minor, op.104

    A. Dvorak

  • Symphony No.6 in B minor op.74 "Pathetique

    P. Tchaikovsky

This time, we will focus on two composers who are regarded as rare melody makers. First, two pieces from Dvořák. The overture "My Home" is a powerful opening piece. In the latter half of the piece, the melody used in the current Czech national anthem appears, which shows the composer's feelings toward his hometown.
Next, we will present a cello concerto with Ms. Miu Ishizaki, a young cello player of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, which has a friendly relationship with Suginami Ward, as a soloist. This is one of the most famous concertos of all time, full of nostalgia and charming melody.
The main work is Tchaikovsky's acknowledged masterpiece, Symphony No. 6 "Pathetique". Please watch how the orchestra will express the passion, heartache, anguish, and indescribable beauty of this piece.
