The brass band was formed in 1993 for the purpose of communicating with citizens through wind music for the creation of civic culture and the development of music culture in Fukuoka City's Nishi Ward. The band members come from a wide range of ages and occupations, including students, businessmen, and housewives, and gather at a practice site near Imajuku Station in Nishi Ward every Sunday.
