The "Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin" (BWV 1001-1006), written by Johann Sebastian Bach, is a collection of three sonatas and three partitas, and has been played for centuries by numerous musicians from modern to ancient instrumentalists as one of the most important repertoire for violin players. It has been performed for hundreds of years by both modern and ancient instrumentalists. In the year 2024, the baroque violinist Marie Torisho will perform this masterpiece collection.

The first in this series of three one-hour short programs of six works for unaccompanied violin from the 17th and 18th centuries will be performed by German violinist Georg Pisendel, a contemporary of Bach who is said to have had a profound influence on Bach's violin works, The first installment of this series will feature the violin sonatas of Georg Pisendel, a German violinist and contemporary of Bach who is said to have greatly influenced Bach's violin works.
