KAGEN" consists of Miko Sakata (biwa), Miwa Inaba (koto), Jack Lee Randall (kagee), and Ikuyo Hirota (kagee), two Japanese instrumentalists who create a sound world that connects from the present to the future, valuing the original taste and tone of instruments that have been handed down in Japan for centuries. KAGEN is a four-member unit consisting of two Japanese instrumentalists and two shadow puppeteers.

In this age of digital technology and the increasing accessibility of vivid images, animation, and music, the group dares to create dozens of pieces of material and express them with light and shadow by moving them with their hands.
The breathing and pauses with the unique sound of traditional instruments stirs the imagination and invites everyone from young children to the elderly to enter deeper and deeper into the world of storytelling.
