Usually, the subscription concert with Tatsuya Shimono focuses on contemporary music. This time, however, we will present an unusual (?) program consisting solely of Romantic music. We will perform the "No. 3" symphony by Schubert and Bruckner, both of whom wrote nearly nine symphonies. The two symphonies are exquisitely timed to connect the period of study and the clear individuality that blossomed in later years. Schubert's works will showcase the fusion of influences from Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, as well as the composer's unique "songs. From Bruckner's work, which marks the 200th anniversary of his birth, you will be able to sense the influence of Austrian folk tones and Wagner, as well as the sprouting of the composer's own originality.
