Euterpe Musikverein will hold its 38th Regular Concert on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

The orchestra will be conducted by Mr. Seitaro Ishikawa, who will be performing with Euterpe for the second time.
Under his guidance, we have been practicing hard to play music as if we were singing.

We have selected two pieces that will bring a sense of "spring" to our concert in March.

The first half is Beethoven's Symphony No. 4.
The first half is Beethoven's Symphony No. 4, as it is sandwiched between "Hero (Symphony No. 3)" and "Destiny (Symphony No. 5)",
Schumann famously described it as "like a beautiful Greek maiden sandwiched between two giants.
Schumann famously described her as "like a beautiful Greek maiden sandwiched between two giants,
It is a piece with a crisp strength and a radiance that seems to shine through gently.

The second half is Schumann's Symphony No. 1.
The second half is Schumann's Symphony No. 1, subtitled "Spring,
The scene is still gloomy in winter, but the snow is gradually melting, and bright sunlight shines on the trees,
The bright sunlight shines on the trees and the budding of flowers and grasses, reminding us of the coming of spring.

When I play these songs, I get the sense that both are moving forward in the light toward a bright future,
I feel such a sensation when I play these songs.

We hope that this year will be a bright and shining year for all of you.

I hope you will enjoy the music with us again this year.
We look forward to seeing you at the Koganei Miyaji Gakki Hall.
