Beethoven's "The Countryside" brings PAC to the podium for the first time in 12 years

The PAC Masterpieces Concert, an easygoing and sumptuous concert of familiar masterpieces, welcomes Finnish virtuoso Okko Kamm, who will make his first appearance at the PAC in 12 years, since the regular concert in 2012.
The first half of the concert will feature Sibelius, another Finnish composer like Okko Kamm. The first piece is "Scene with a Crane," one of the accompaniment music for the play "Kuolema," which means "death" in Finnish. ≪While "Sad Waltz" is well-known as the accompaniment music for "Kuolema," "Scene with Cranes" is a masterpiece that stands out for its quiet beauty. For the next violin concerto, the soloist will be the young and hot young artist, Ayana Tsuji󠄀. This concerto was performed by Tsuji󠄀 when she won the 2016 Montreal International Music Competition, and was the piece that made her name known around the world. Transparent, dynamic, brooding - expect to hear how Tsuji󠄀 will express the many faces of Scandinavia.
The second half is Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 "Rural". It is a perfect work to listen to in the spring, expressing the soundscape of the countryside, such as the sound of birdsong and storms, and the joyful emotions that well up from it. We hope you enjoy it.
