The Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra's "Touring Concert Series," which aims to spread the enjoyment of classical music throughout Kanagawa Prefecture and beyond, will make its first appearance in Shizuoka! The concert will be held at the Marinart, which is known for its excellent acoustics, and will feature a performance of "My Homeland" by the Czech composer Smetana, under the baton of renowned conductor Junichi Hirokami. This work consists of six symphonic poems, including "Moldau," which is often performed as a stand-alone piece. It is full of "love for one's homeland". Although the melodies are from the West, they resonate with the heartstrings of those of us who live in the East, perhaps because we share the same feelings for our homeland.
