Piano Ryoma Takagi

Ryoma Takagi has won the first prize and the Audience Prize at the 16th Edvard Grieg International Piano Competition, which brought him into the international limelight. He has also won first prize at seven other international competitions, including the 26th Rome International Piano Competition. He has performed with orchestras such as the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Ukrainian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Fuji Shizuoka Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Hans Graf, Edward Gardner, Andrea Battistoni, and Kenichiro Kobayashi, Kazuyoshi Akiyama, Tadaaki Otaka, Ken Takaseki, Yutaka Sado, Tatsuya Shimono, Masato Suzuki, and others. He has performed extensively, including concerts at the Vienna Musikverein, Schönbrunn Palace, and other prestigious halls around the world, and has appeared as the main pianist Shuhei Amamiya in NHK's "Piano Forest," as well as in the film "Analog," TV Asahi's "Untitled Concert" and NHK E-television's "Blue Orchestra. He has appeared in many media and music festivals. He has been appointed as a full-time lecturer at Kyoto City University of Arts, where he also teaches younger students.
