Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra 997th Orchard Subscription Concert Unofficial

The three performances by Myung-Whun Chung (Music Director Emeritus) this season will all feature important works that demonstrate the richness of his relationship with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. This will be a special performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 "Denen" that will reflect the long history of collaboration between the Maestro and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. The main program will be Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring," one of the milestones of 20th century music. It has been 20 years since the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra performed "The Rite of Spring," but with an orchestra that has evolved dramatically in the intervening years, and with the Maestro's precise and fiery baton, it is a guarantee of one of the best performances.
