Bruckner's 200th birthday commemoration] The year of Bruckner commemoration opens with the First Symphony. Tatsuya Shimono will perform the so-called "Vienna Draft," which was revised in the composer's later years. The freshness and boldness of the early version (Linz manuscript) have been criticized as having been lost, but Tatsuya Shimono's meticulous reading of the score will reveal Bruckner's ambition and intention to raise the level of perfection of his symphonic works.
