The 18th Century Orchestra, one of the world's leading ancient music orchestras, will visit Japan for the first time in 11 years!

The performance will be entirely on ancient instruments, and will feature a large collection of instruments that are not usually seen in Japan. One of the pleasures of this performance is that the orchestra will bring to the stage of Fukuoka Symphony Hall a "Pleyel," a piano made in the period in which Chopin composed his music, and play it. And when the piano will be played by the winners of the Chopin Competition, expectations will be even higher!
The sound of the piano, which is different from the usual, will surely allow you to imagine the world that Chopin envisioned.

Fortepianos are structurally insufficient and slender, and few of them exist in concert condition, but this No. 10456 is a rare instrument that retains almost all of its original condition. The single action, which is an improvement of the classical Viennese action, has a simple structure with a part that directly pushes up the hammer that strikes the strings at the end of the keyboard, so it easily conveys the delicate expression of the fingertips like a stringed instrument. The keys are light and have a soft tone, and the tonal changes during pianissimo are beautiful.
