Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra The 146th Subscription Concert Unofficial

Up-and-coming Italian conductor Bonato and clarinet virtuoso Meyer present an all-French program.

Italian conductor Alessandro Bonato, who is in his twenties but has been active in numerous orchestras and opera houses, makes his PAC subscription debut. He will perform an all-French program.
The program opens with a performance with clarinet virtuoso Paul Mayet. Mayet was scheduled to perform at the subscription concert in March 2020, but the concert was canceled due to the new coronavirus, and after a lapse of about three and a half years, the collaboration with PAC was realized. The two pieces to be performed are the "First Rhapsody" written by Debussy for his graduation examination at the Paris Conservatory of Music, and the "Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra" by Esche, dedicated to Meyer. The fact that these works were written for Meyer will highlight his virtuosity.
The second half of the concert will feature the famous "L'Arles" with its minuet and farandole, and "Bolero" with its pleasantly repetitive rhythms, followed by a series of masterpieces that France is proud of.
This is the finest French music presented by a conductor of the same age as the PAC members. Please enjoy the fresh and gorgeous sound.
