We, Koudai Opera, give opera performances every April and November as part of the "Opera Practicum," an elective specialized course for the Graduate School of Human and Social Sciences and the Fourth Class Music and Culture Course of the Faculty of Education at Hiroshima University. Occasionally, we venture out of the university and actively give art performances at junior high schools and high schools, as well as off-campus performances.

Faculty, graduate students, and students work together to create everything, including cast, piano, orchestra, lighting, costumes, large and small props, subtitles, and direction. Not only voice students, but also many students in the sub-departments participate in this project. With the motto of "everyone plays a leading role," we aim to create performances in which there are no principals or prima donnas. Through opera, which is a comprehensive art form, we aim to nurture well-rounded individuals. Some of our graduates are active as opera singers.

This performance will be a special version of the operetta "Die Fledermaus" as part of Hiroshima University's 75+75th anniversary celebration. There will be special guests representing Hiroshima University...? This is sure to be an enjoyable experience for children and adults alike. You can also enjoy the Hiroshima University University Festival held on the same day.

We are sincerely looking forward to seeing you there.
