~The Beauty of Melancholy, Dufay's Autumn~.
Guillaume Dufay (August 5, 1397 - November 27, 1474)
Every year we present a variety of Dufay's works from among his 200 or so works, mainly courtly love chansons, but also including lesser-known works. We will also hear Dufay's prayerful chansons such as "Lamentation of the Church of Our Lady of Constantinople" and "Rondeau," which may have been a memorial to Banschois.
Enjoy the music of these talented composers who played a key role in the transition from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, performed by a variety of performers and in a variety of forms.
