Urawa Philharmonic Orchestra

The Urawa Philharmonic Orchestra is an amateur orchestra active in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture. Founded in 1986, the orchestra has about 50 members and performs ensemble-oriented music in an at-home atmosphere.
The Urawa Philharmonic performs mainly relatively small-scale classical works by two winds, but this subscription concert will feature an all-Brahms program.
The works of Brahms, who is the closest to the classical school among the Romantic composers and is also called "neo-classical," are a veritable treasure chest of Brahms' works, which is also the repertoire in which Music Director Hisakazu Sato excels.
The "Variations on a Theme by Haydn" is a memorable piece that was performed at the first subscription concert (1986). This will be the second performance of "Tragic Overture" since the 12th Subscription in 1992, and the third performance of "Symphony No. 4" since the 2nd Subscription in 1987 and the 46th Subscription in 2009.
